TAMAULIPAS FRONTERA - It's the 'frontier' or border strip of the state of Tamaulipas, Mx. border with Texas, U.S. That area was a designated trade zone and past the checkpoint is where Mexico really begin starting enforcing some trade laws requiring duty to be paid on some goods transported south of the check points.

You may have seen some Mexican license plates on cars that said 'Front Tamps' which designate vehicles registered in 'TAMAULIPAS FRONTERA'.

Oh, okay.;) Only Mexican state I ever spent time in is Campeche.:D Where the old Galveston ferries go to finish their lives.

Are you sure you won't reconsider the video? ;)

Oh, I am very sure! :D

Y'all sure get carried away about the fact I don't do the rain dance with hairy legs! :confused2:

And my tractor doesn't need wax. He's a work horse, not a Halter horse!

Ron; The trick is to make more than you need, then freeze some of it. That way, you have it in the RV along the way. I put mine in single serving containers. If there is any left in the freezer at the end of winter, it is always good to make chili dogs with in the Spring and Summer!

Definitely with you on the cornbread vs crackers debate. Gotta have saltines in the wolf brand! :licking:

I've tried Wolf brand and many other brands and if there's a canned chili anywhere worth buying, I haven't found it. It's been quite a few years since I had any chili at Wendy's, but it wasn't bad.

How many of you are old enough to remember when the grocery stores sold "brick" chili; one pound blocks of chili?

And "Wolf" brand chili always reminds me of the pastor of my wife's church before we got married. He also worked in the advertising business. He said he proposed a TV ad that would show a priest (identified by his clothes and collar, of course) in a grocery store, turning to stare at a scantily clad beautiful young lady walking down the store aisle. And the caption would say, "There should be a little Wolf in every man." But he said his proposal was rejected.:D

Never heard of that. Was it dried, refrigerated?

Refrigerated, kept in the meat market display that the stores all had before they went to pre-packaged meats. Of course that chili had a good bit of grease in it, which was what held the blocks together. But I remember it as tasting better than any of the modern day canned chili.
