My neighbors has one but I have only seen the top, never been in it. We have had some hit close but only known one to get a house about 2miles away and it wasn't a real big one,the ones closer just go threw the pastures messing up some trees,we got the hail damage from one couple years ago.

I have only seen them in the Texas Panhandle. My Grandpa's storm celler was about 35 feet from his backdoor. He sleep in it's coolness in the summer. My uncle's house had a huge basement. Not many basements around here. I only know of one in the area and that house is on a huge hill of clay.

Thanks for the responses. I think I can get a rebate on a prefab "room" that wold bolt down in the garage and was hoping someone had some experience on how they perform.

Trees are budding and flowering all over the greater Houston area. Neighbors Red-bud is starting to take off and the tree canopies are going to explode in the next week or two.

Time for mulch and I'm tempted to fire up the tractor and start rolling the aerator around the yard. Do y'all wait for March to scalp and aerate yards, or are you getting anxious to do it now like I am? :scratchchin:

The grass.

Sorry for not being clear. In the Sprinng I usually mow the dormant grass back really short, and then aerate with a core plugger to help get oxygen, water, and fertilizer to the roots.

Just curious what others do, and when? Thanks!

Nice! That's the plan out North of Huntsville, but here in town the HOA keeps a short leash on lawns and landscaping. At least it keeps couches out of the front yards too...
