Look out:eek: Lou drunk,, now some say I like sauerkraut with a weenie.. others with a with bbq sausage.. but I like liquid sauerkraut,:licking:, You say what's the fulk is that?,, that's when you take,, say a bushel of dry corn,;), pour into a 55 gal. wooden barrel,, then add one head of finely chopped cabbage,:confused3:, that's the kraut,, ten pound of sugar and pack of baker yeast,, fill with nice cool spring water,, let set for 5 to 7 days.:drink:.
Now take a pressure cooker fill with the fermented liquid from the barrel,, cook at 190 to 200 degrees F. You know where the pressure gage is?,:stirthepot:, Remove it and add a copper coil tubing.. place this tubing in cool water and collect the condensation coming from the fermented cooker.. You may want to keep running water on this tubing so as not to let the steam blow by.:duh:.
Cool this liquid to room temperature and drink from a mason jar while eaten a cheese hamburger on whole wheat bun.. can you say may I have another Lou..you bet:laughing: while you are up make me one too... Now throw the fermented mash away or start a new sauerkraut fermented cabbage brew for next week.. I wonder how many words I msipelled.?. Lou

I never heard of such a thing, so I wonder if there's any truth to it.

Yep. From the days when Texas had a Liquor Control Board. (Which is now part of a bigger agency.)

It's 34˚ on top of the hill, I'm sure it has dropped below freezing in the valleys. We picked the last watermelon yesterday, a whopper at 32 pounds. Harvey and Mike are coming by to help eat it.

Lou; I'd drink my sauerkraut, if you were making it! :D Don't let the G-men find your copper tubing though!

I like Sauerkraut OK, but I love it on a Reuben Sandwich......Grilled Rye bread, Swiss Cheese, Corned beef sliced while it's still hot, Claussen's Sauerkraut, and Russian Dressing(can substitute 1000 Island). Great on a cold day like today.

30* this morning and the wind is still pretty tough.

Well, thanks to TxDon's story a while back, we just returned from TSC with the heavy duty mower lift.
It was marked down from $199 to $179 on the internet catalog and we had the additional 10% off on anything in the store coupon.
So we saved enough for the wife to buy 2-50 pd bags of wild bird feed. Then she grabs a new pair of rubber barn boots and I grab a case of grease. Oh well,
That's the old marketing theorem "The more you spend, the more you save", I guess...

Yep, that's a real Reuben made with corned beef. I don't what pacerron is making with the ham, but it ain't an authentic Reuben.:D

I used my 10% off coupon also today for a jacket and critter food. Out front on the clearance pallet was a heavy-duty mower lift just like the one we bought on sale for $99. (Kyle are you reading this post? The 10% OFF coupon is good starting today)

$99 would be a good price. They might even knock 10% off of that.
The store I went to only had one unit ( I called before going ) and it was up on a high rack. They were putting out inventory today so we had to wait about 10 minutes for them to move stuff to get a fork lift to it. Another marketing strategy ?
I like roaming around in the tractor parts section but my wife keeps me on a short leash when I head back that way. I try that on her when she heads toward the horse section but it never works.:confused3:

We got above 60 for about 30 seconds today. Windy and cool. Potential frost/freeze tonight. Everything's covered just in case.

When Harvey and Mike got here we were so busy getting caught up, and the day went by so fast, we forgot about the watermelon. So I get to eat their slice.:D
Best tasting watermelon of the season.

Looks like it could have stayed a couple more weeks, but without very warm days, it would not have tasted any sweeter. The best melons are always the ones from your own garden. After they see that picture, Harvey and Mike might just show up for a 2nd visit.:D
