Charlie,
What's the new avatar?
Looks like a cowboy or cowgirl about to lift the hood on something and possibly a dog's head in the foreground?
My eyes are getting too old to see avatars, I guess.

It isn't a very good picture, I was cooking some Chicken Fajitas at a Red Steagals "Cowboy Gathering" in the Ft. Worth Stockyards many moons ago. The party was just about to get roaring after dinner.

It was hot and very humid last night at work. Changed shirts 3 times. Then the fog came in. 77 degrees when I left Hobby @ 0700 hrs. You know it's bad when the tower says it is too thick to taxi and tells you to taxi at your discretion.

I hit the front half way home...........heavy rains.........cars going 30 when I wanted to go 55 in the dually...........Major storm runoff in the Conroe area. I got 1.75 inches of downpour. The ponds are overflowing again. My bulkhead spoil piles washed down on the posts I put in last weekend. Looks like I'll be breaking out my South of the Border loader to move it.
Gonna go hop in bed now.
hugs, Brandi

With this mornings temps, I have had to move the rain dance indoors. :hissyfit:

Be careful FG. The last time I did an indoor rain dance, my basement plumbing froze up and flooded it with 4" of water.

Well, FG is stealing all my rain again. She whines like a 6 yr old when I get a little more rain than her, but I never see any sympathy from her when I only get 6/10 of an inch and she gets 2.75". ;)

We actually had a mini ice storm between 3:30 AM and 5:00 AM this morning. My deck and steps are covered in 1/4" of ice and the roads were icy about 5 miles south of Sunset. By the time my wife got down to Alvord this morning to take my grandson to school, the roads were just wet and the bridges clear. It's been 30 F here all morning and that means whatever falls will be freezing rain or sleet. I'm sure glad I did not have to go to Wichita Falls this morning. We only have to make one trip out again before Thanksgiving, and that suits me just fine.

Darn weather... After the new red paint job I was looking forward to photographing you hand propping the rotary
in your Texas mini.

As soon as it warms again, maybe I'll make that trek yet! I've been looking to make another cross country journey, as soon as my boss gives me a few days off in a row, and I don't have to worry about icing conditions!

Jim- Be careful on your trip, because as you know Texas weather this time of year bounces from one extreme to the other.

jinman; I didn't know how much rain you did or did not get, when I was getting out, this morning! No way to offer sympathy. Besides, I was just reclaiming "my share"!

Roads have been wet today, but no ice. I did see one truck slid off into a bar ditch, and the wrecker crew working to try to get hooked to him. When I got home, my gate was icy, so temps are definitely getting below freezing, and it is still misting. I hear Sunday will be our worst weather day, and Monday morning commutes could be ugly. I have told the boss, "You want the work done with icy roads, you'll have to get busy yourself." I've worked enough hours this week to earn an extra morning off! I'll take that on Monday!

I'll be putting blankets on the horses for the first time in a very long time, this afternoon. My herd usually gets to just be horses, but with this wind, and the temps, I'll give them a little help.

I did get some water added to the stock tank. It is now about 10% full, so is up from empty! The deep end, which should be 20 feet deep, is maybe waist high now! At least it's a start!

I LOVE Red Steagal, and his gathering! Do you make it most years, Native?

I have icicles hanging from tree limbs. It is a light freezing rain here. Luckily, with the warm temps of yesterday, pavement isn't freezing yet, but grass is becoming white.

Now honestly, wouldn't y'all much prefer weather like that in the photo, to the mess we are getting now? Come on, Springtime!
