Easy solution... Just put the Kraut on your half :)
If you squeeze the moisture out before putting it on, it won't creep to her side.
My wife doesn't like green olives so I leave them off her side.
She does like black olives so when she opens a can I put them on both sides.:licking:

You know the problem with having half of anything Kraut. You may think it's going to stay on it's side, but before you know it, it's rolling across the Polish Sausage like nobody's business. Pizza in our times, yeah, right.

That's what pizza cutters are for if that is a problem. Cut the darn thing in half before you put the kraut on.

With cheese melting on top of the kraut it is not going to move much, if at all.

Maybe you should level your oven:D

Well, I enjoyed my Subway footlong BMT tonight, but I sure am getting hungry lookin' at that pizza. Actually, I felt lucky to eat the BMT without problems because my stomach has been acting up a bit today.

Good for you Jim

We really like Subways and use every excuse to get one.
After a fast and blood draw we always head for the Walmart near the hospital lab and get and split a sub and soft drink.
I don't know what it is called because my wife always stands in line to get it. It is the one with Salami, pepporoni,
and all the toppings. Seems to give an instant energy boost and they give us a senior discount.
Often after a trip to town every couple of weeks for supplies we get one and bring it home to split for lunch.
We haven't been to a burger and fries joint for years and have no plans too.

You are fortunate in being able to recover from the chemo so fast.

pacerron; It is the Spicy Italian sub, y'all get. I think that is the only "Fast Food" I will eat, and only 2-3 times a year.

Now, as for that pizza, I am going to have to make one of those, and add the kraut next weekend! It looks GOOD, and I love kraut, and have some that I "made" and canned. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, but seeing those pics, pacerron and blueriver, y'all are making me hungry!

sseelhoff; I got your joke!

Watch out! That new flu going around will sneak up on you quick, knock you on the floor and pounce on you. I had to go to the ER about 6 hours after I started getting symptoms to get out of my downward dehydration cycle. The swab came back negative for the types of flu the flu shot was to prevent. No chest pains but I was begining to wonder if it was heart related - later the 12 lead EKG ruled that out. That agonizing 45 minute ride to the ER trying to stay conscious has got me thinking about the distance our place is to the nearest medical facility at 1 A.M. in the morning.

TXDon; Sorry to hear that you got the flu, and have been so ill. So much for the flu shot, huh? Haven't taken one in 15 years, and have been healthier. I do however, supplement Vitamin D during the winter months, when I don't get as much sunlight to convert cholesterol to Vitamin D. Without enough Vit D, you will have a poor immune system. Since you avoid so many of the daity products, I'd be sure and take a good Vit D supplement, and take it at higher doses. Just my :2cents:, FWIW

Dang it, Don! You don't need that kind of excitement. They say that us older folks have a natural immunity to the new flu strain because we were exposed many years ago. Of course, I get the flu shot every year and have had little problems for as long as I can remember. I'm also staying away from large groups of people too. I scrub my shopping baskets with anti-bacterial wipes each time I get one. What is so scary in your instance is that it came on so quickly. I hope you feel better soon.

It seems Subway is expanding as rapidly as they can. They tend to appear often in available space in gas stations rather than building stand-alone stores. A local Shell station was just remodeled and they put a Subway into the back part of the store. It's near to the local high school and middle school, so that will help their customer base. It's half the distance to other stores, so we go there, and have been very satisfied with their service and sandwiches. My grandson is excited because he got a Subway gift card in his Christmas stocking.:D

My wife & I get the flu shots every year, but the last two times were the first time I'd heard of the HD (high dose) for older folks, so that's what we got. One of our daughters and a grandson are sick with the flu now. A son-in-law (husband of the other daughter) doesn't get flu shots. Our daughter had to take him to the doctor Thursday since he's down with the flu. I've had the flu some years ago; don't care to get it again, so I much prefer the shots.

Sorry Don, to hear about your bout with the flu,, I have never taken the flu shot and I can only remember having it one time in my life about twenty years ago.. I also keep a bottle of germ -X in my truck, jeep and on the patio,, in the house,, on the tractor,, I thinking I may have a problem with clean hands.:laughing:.
But I guess that the price you pay for the solitude of living so far away from the emergency room.:). Lou

Did you have a fever?
The flu that the flu shot is for is respiratory.
There are a group of about 20, most common, virus that the swab test covers. H1N1 is only one in the group.

There are other virus that causes symptoms of abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea that people commonly call the flu.
If they did a stool test it would be for bacteria or parasites. Some are treated and some are not.

All the Walmart superstores in this area have them inside near an entrance or exit. They direct the exhaust fans strategically to grab you on the way by and pull you in. Many little individual stores in the area as well.
They are always clean and the service is fast.
I pop off to my wife that they have 3-4 people to serve you along a 20 foot counter while Walmart has 25-30 check out lines and usually only
one open at each end.

.

I had a fever (101.5), still do, going up & down, and a hacking cough. I also had severe nausea sweating and chills until the IV at the hospital. Chest x-ray was clear. Tylenol is taking care of the fever and I got some good red syrup from the pharmacy safe that's taking care of the cough and also Tamiflu pills. The pharmacy was very busy. I haven't had a flu shot in many years and like Lou I'm always cleaning my hands.

I made potato soup last cold spell. I'm making chicken and vegetable soup this time! It has to cook/simmer all day, but is well worth the effort, and I can eat on it for a week! Only good thing about winter is homemade soups! :licking:
