The wind comes tomorrow I think, their saying 30mph. I have 14* here, just north in Bridgeport, they show 11*. It is a good thing it isnt blowing this morning:thumbsup:

Sunday was so nice, I tilled he garden, sure getting nice and soft. Cut back all the rose bushes big time, but left the Blackberries alone. Sure a big temperature swing!

It was a crisp 9 F here this morning as shown on both of my thermometers. I have my fingers crossed, hoping for some rain early next week. Ever since I put up my new rain gage, it has not rained a drop. If my bluebonnets don't get rain soon, I won't have any when April rolls around.:(

What about the location of your 2 thermometers? Are they out away from the house?
Just wunderin/wondering/curious.:D

We have one built into the heat pump outside unit that is on the North side of the house that currently says 14 deg and one on the south side
that says 34. It is not in direct sunlight but the sun is out bright.
At night there is usually 2-4 degrees difference.
Last night one was minus 5 and the other minus 3.
Both are electronic.

Ron, does the one thermometer get a "reflection"? I had to move mine since I was getting "radiant" (my guess) heat from the deck, made a 10-15* difference.

Jim, I too, have been seeing an ever increasing rain chance. 60% on Monday sounds like reason for a possible celebration.. "Hey y'all. cookout at Jim's house" !!

Probably does. It is below the South deck level on the frame and shaded by a bush in the summer and the sun is North of the house in summer. In the winter it gets more sun.
It is one of those LaCrosse things. The thermometer is inside the main outside plug in sender unit. The rain gauge and the wind gauge above the roof all plug into the sender unit and is wireless to the receiver display inside.
My son gave it to me years ago. Had software to go in the computer that would make all kinds of fancy charts and records but I never used that part.
Aren't most weather stations that report to Wunderground in a louvered box out in the open? I was thinking you or Don were weather reporting points?

The weather gods are taking good care of us in the RGV. Got a little ice on top of palm trees. Low temperature was 35°. Got .54" of rain. Farmers are loving it.

Ron, I have one thermometer mounted to the molding around my garage door on the north side of my house, It never sees the sun and represents the best temperature around here for most of 24 hours a day. The other thermometer is on the west side of my house, mounted to the corner of my deck in partial shade. In the morning, it is in complete shade and about 10' away from the main house structure. In the morning, both thermometers give accurate results, but may differ by 10 F in the afternoon sun. I always refer to the garage mounted thermometer in the afternoon. I check regularly with the temperature at the Bowie airport, and it is very close during the daytime. It always seems cooler here in the morning than the airport. Perhaps it's because of the heat island they have there with all the concrete and asphalt.

Yep, that's it, thanks Don. Only problem with me doing that, is I'm not home every day when I work.
