Sure ya can! Ever heard of "The Breakfast of Champions"?

When I was competing in rodeo, for breakfast, a lot of the cowboys would take a beer, pour it into a glass, crack 2 eggs into it, (raw) and drink it up. I never cracked the eggs into mine, just drank the beer, straight up!

Beer for breakfast doesn't sound too good . . . but when you work 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., beer at 7:30 a.m. was very good! And yep, that's experience talking.

And I got an early start this afternoon and tried (well, still trying) Crown and prune juice, oops, I mean Dr. Pepper. Not bad, but I don't think it's quite as good as Crown and Coke Zero.

Hey Dennis how did your appointment go today with your doctor?..
I got Betty up there and back,, they said she could drive now,, go to the gym and work out,, But they didn't take away the heart monitor,, she will have to pack it for 8 more weeks.. Got her set up for couple of scans in six weeks.. I had a nice meal at Joe's bbq in Alvin Texas on the way back.. I let Betty watch while I devoured some ribs and beef,, She had to eat a salad,, She kept given me a go to heck look,, but it still tasted good .:D.Lou

Lou, kinda mean making her watch you eat the good stuff:laughing:

Today ended up just being a consultation with 2 doctors, did the EKG and normal office stuff. BP (118/80 on both arms). I have to do the echo-gram/ stress test the end of the month. They also told me about an some new arterial viewer they can use to gauge the plaque build-up by scanning the neck area?? Told them I saw that thing used on Star Trak, so it wasn't very new!:D We do that and see. They did mention me having to wear a monitor for 24-36 hrs possibly and after how you said it's gone for Betty (my mothers name too) I'm not sure I want to wear that thing, said you even have to wear it in the tub!!:confused3::shocked:

They asked me if I get much exercise, said probably not enough, but knew of a guy in Sunset Texas that gets allot of exercise dragging hoses around, so I will probably start that "program" this gardening season:rotfl:

Better her than me having to watch.. Sound like you are getting thing taken care of.. The monitor she wear in a defibrillator in case her heart stops.. it gives her a electrical shock,, she got a lot of attention today from the all the doctors that worked on her.. They still calling her the Christmas Miracle Lady,, I call her Betty is my supper ready.. I have to do all the cooking right now.. lot of new terminology that I don't understand.. but what new?.. :D,, When you got three doctors talking to each other,, in front of you,, about what would be the best plan for her.. that when you realize you missed something in school and wonder where those boys from.... we are lucky to have so many young people with a desire to help others. it's good to be an American in Texas..:D . Lou

Lou- Good to hear the "Miracle Lady" is doing well. I can't imagine how much a pain that monitor would be.

Dennis- Start out slow with the hose dragging work out. You don't want to pull something. Stretch first.

24* here this morning and the wind hasn't shown any sign of weakening, straight out of the north and gusts to 25mph. Doesn't look like we'll get above freezing today and there is possible snow showers. No accumilation expected, but you never know.

FG- OK, I think I'm ready for spring!

Ya'll keep the fire going and stay warm.

Charlie

14*, windchill at 1*. We have about 1/2" of "crystallized" looking snow, with more coming. I will take this over ice any day if given a choice.

Lou, The monitor I my have to use , wont be like the one Betty is using, it will monitor and record the heart rhythm

NWS says Denton's at 16 right now, going for a high of 25, and snow likely before noon. I've got to take my wife to a doctor's appointment at 10 a.m., so I hope the roads won't be too bad. At least this is just for a post surgery checkup, so nothing too serious even if the appointment was cancelled.

Bird, from what I'm seeing here right now, I think you'll be fine. You have had a few years practice on stuff like this:D It's not even sticking to itself on my deck, froze solid on the way down I'm sure.

Ron, the cardiologist would get bored if he saw what I was watching, FOX news on almost all day:laughing: Of course they'd probably tell me to switch to the Disney channel to keep the heart rate down:shocked:

BTW, wind chill has risen to 2* YEAH!!

Ah, The bleach blonde network! Caught'ya :point:
And that's a memo:

I thought you lived in the hot south.
It is 14 up here with bright sunshine.
Might even get to 21 today.
The deck thermometer says 34 all ready.
I should enclose the deck in glass and have a sun room.

So change the channel.

Good one ... That must have been the problem cause it only got to 14 with the windchill 1 .. Was watching the wrong channel!!! Power is out this morning.

It started out at 12 F here at 6 AM and then came up to 13.6 right now. Alvord ISD delayed school opening this morning and then decided to call calf-rope and cancelled for the whole day. It occurs to me that this is just good Fort Worth Stock Show weather.:D We can't have too many years of good weather at the Stock Show or everyone will get spoiled.

However, this weather sure makes me yearn for a fireplace insert so I can get more usable heat out of my fireplace. It's warm within 4' of the hearth, but the rest of the room is getting all the warm air sucked up the chimney.:( With the way the weather has been, I think I could get pay-back on an insert in just one year.

On TV, I see Dallas and Ft Worth have some large fluffy flakes of snow falling, but I have mostly just small flakes mixed with drifting snow. When the wind blows, the snow looks like smoke drifting across my deck. It's a Texas blizzard.
