Well ... I finally have a litter or purebred Red Wattle piglets .. Been waiting on this gilt .. She scored 8 piglets !!

Yes roll on them !! I had a lot of that before the crates ... If you notice in the picture those little pigs find that heat lamp and really don't move until momma starts her milk grunt .. The roll over or lay on is minimized with crates ... I just love new born piglets !!!

Had not seen the HF Mill. Looks interesting. Do you have any idea on length of frame? Have you looked at one in person yet? Are you going to make your fixed or portable?

You are right, it looks like a good stable pad under it would make a big difference. It would be easy to load with a grapple.

I looked a bit at the Wood Mizers but, they are a bit pricey. If HF will let you use one of the 25% coupons you would buy it for $1,425.

Let us know how this works out.

A friend in Kansas has one. I haven't seen it. I have asked for a report after he gets it up and running. A customer review says the saw ran fine after bracing the powerhead (saw, wheels, and engine). Any sawmill can have track added. Not sure about the basic length.

I'll have it fixed, not on a trailer. I think the stated price is the sale price, so no discount coupon would apply. What I have researched on the small bandsaw mills is they all cut the same. The more they cost, the faster they cut. Rick build the log house in this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/156451-log-house-project-begins.html with a Woodmizer LT15.

Brandi don't be so quick to dismiss a HF coupon. I had a HF 25% off coupon from Discover that said in store only and I used it online and on sale item and it was honored.

I have bought lots a HF sales items and applied a 20% or 25% coupon to sales price. Tell store manager that you are interested in ordering the mill but want to use coupon and I think it will be agreed to to get a sale. Good luck.

Looks like the weekend will be just perfect for outdoor chores. Will be near 80 on Sunday, I just hope we have a Spring that is longer than a couple of days! Last Spring was one of the better ones that I can remember, lasted almost 10 days!!:laughing:

Don, thanks for the "ash" tip for potatoes. I did some online "research" and it is used to plant the eyes earlier. As mentioned, it is a desiccant and great for planting right after cutting the eyes. This way I may not wait 5 days but just a couple to see if any look to be spoiling. Sound like a plan?

Blueriver, that's a really nice looking litter of piglets. Let's hope they all survive and your numbers grow rapidly. I know you'll do everything needed to make your herd increase.


Let's all hope we are nearing the end of winter and spring will settle in soon with some nice showers. I'd love to be kept busy with emptying my new rain gage.
