Texas Fall/Winter thread!

We had our Christmas today with Mom over at her house because of my brother. Once kids have kids and multiple families are involved and work days are scattered Christmas is a week or two celebration.

Well HOWDY there Don. Glad to hear from You!!! How is living near town working out? With Luke being a chef, having Christmas on Christmas day is iffy until the last minute. He usually comes home with a left over turkey.

We will be in East Texas for Christmas and I didn’t stock up enough on the Delicious Tamales in San Antonio so we may not have enough to go around to everyone Christmas morning.

When our kids were 2 or 3, we decided we would always be home Christmas morning, so they would have that memory. We visit family afterwards.
This year we are staying put, might venture to MIL for New Years.

We're postponing Christmas this year so everyone (in Texas) can get together. We have a DIL that has to work Christmas day and other work schedules push it out a little more so we'll be celebrating on the 28th. Close to New Years but we'll be staying home for New Years eve and be glad to see the old year go.

Merry Christmas to you all in Texas.....from Kansas. It's forecast to hit 63F deg today....and then be 17F deg tomorrow night. This mild fall/winter has allowed for a lot of outdoor chores to be completed. ... it very dry here.

Oh, that looks like fun. What play project will you use it on?

Main job will be moving logs that flattened the Mahindra's front tires and bigger logs that the Mahindra has to drag to the mill. Secondary job will be helping build the sawmill shed. Lifting full size 2x12s, 20 foot long for top sill plates on the shed and sitting the 40 foot roof trusses, then helping build the log house and sitting her timber trusses.
Maybe I might hire it and me out for odd lifts, that I can drive it to.

I found out my BIL's company is moving to Texas. Over a hundred year old company, from Illinois. (please don't make this political)

So they will be moving back from Chicago suburb....to west side of Houston/Katy/Cypress area.

Happy New Year Y'all! Feliz Año Nuevo! I learned to say this from one of the appearance technicians at SWA. She really tried to teach me Spanish, but I only picked up a hand full more words. She cleaned the RON crew's planes, not our C check planes. Good people. Only thing I miss about working.

Weather forecast is for a couple of inches of rain and possibly even sleet and show this week in Central Texas, might even start to fill the stock tanks back up. My big tank is down over six feet now and doesn't have that many more to go. Maybe this will finally break the drought and send 2020 out with a little good news finally.
