Texas Fall/Winter thread!

...........and most welcome to chase the humidity away. TG day reminded me more like January hog hunting weather. 40 degrees and drizzling.
Winter comes only in spruts, so we look forward to weather forecasts with a cold front coming.

So in East Texas we got 2.2 inches of rain Friday night and Saturday early morning. Son said we also got rain in Central Texas but didn't know how much.

Cold weather is teasing us. Is anyone expecting a White Christmas this year?

Don’t think we will see a white Christmas here but Wednesday night in Texline TX I was driving in this mess. It took me 9hrs to drive from Colorado Springs to Amarillo Wednesday night. I drove from Amarillo to Colorado Springs in 5.5 hrs Wednesday morning. Snow moved in and made a mess of the roads coming out of Colorado and through New Mexico. Long day!

I've made that run. Pickups are not great on snow/ice unless you have some weight on the bed.

Glad you got back safely.

When we would go quail hunting in the snow on Grandpa's farm, we would put dirt in back of the pickup. That is a lot of manual labor for a 11 year old, but warms you up quick.

We are wet again. I can't go outside to check the rain gauge because I had foot surgery two weeks ago.

Haha...pouring here. Had a brief break between about 8 and 10.

We got a little rain, but we were blasted by the highest wind that we've seen in a while.

Same here as Fiddlearound, only .06" rain and gust up to 21MPH in the valley.

We got about a inch in yesterdays rain, but, lots of high winds last night and this morning.
Still a few buffeting winds out on the highways this afternoon.

Really odd, but this is the first time we have had ferel hogs come up in our town yard in East Texas. They come in the pastures at the farm fairly often. The last two nights we have had the hogs in town. Cold weather seems to bring them out of the woods.

Weather people are forecasting very cold temps for here next Sunday through Tuesday.
Mon and Tue never get above 32 and low of +10F. They are saying pay close attention Saturday as Monday/Tuesday may or may not include precipitation which may be ice or snow or sleet. Multiple stations actually said the "Model's" have conflicting outlooks at this time.
Bread and Milk at the stores will be bought out by Saturday!
