It's so dry the first 3 inches would just run off and soak into the cracks even if it dumped in 30 minutes!
The next 2 would pool a little and soak in.
The rest can just dump into our little lake Lavon.

I drive up that way when I want to avoid some of the dfw traffic. Through Farmersville and Princeton. You know anything about Pinkey's? I was looking at a brush hog there, but then decided a ditch flail makes more sense for me.

Not really, Talked on the phone to them once, seemed nice enough and been on the lot once or twice looking but have never bought from them, ended up going with Four Brothers in Royce city for a better price.

Spring planting is underway at my place. We got 4 blueberry bushes, a couple of pecan trees, a couple of blackberry canes. Irish potatoes go in the ground on Tuesday. Wife ordered some seeds for the herb garden. We finally have a few dry days to get work done.

no more freezes predicted in February for much of south Texas. froze last night, 36F right now, it could sneak down to freezing tonight, calm and clear.

No more freezing weather after tonight in the long term forecast. Just good weather for growing grass. Horses will like it.

We have 27 now, but headed to 61. No more freezing weather forecast for at least 2 weeks. We may be done. Possible we will see a small dip in March.

I inherited a Kioti LK3052 from my father. It was stolen last night and I can't find any details on the serial (VIN) number. I did find a picture of the engine cover with a couple of paper labels shown in the attached .Could either of these be the VIN. I realize the actual number in on a metal...

The prediction is for rain Saturday, hope they are right!

It's bone dry here in the Bastrop area, got maybe a quarter inch of moisture during our one week of winter. Accumulation of the sleet and ice.

We've had no significant rain since early November.

Feels like springtime now, 71° at the present. Farrier was out to shoe the three horses. Today he appreciated working in the shade inside the horse barn. Center aisle runs north and south, so we get a nice breeze. I just moved 10 bales of hay with the CTL and hay grapple from the hay barn to the horse barn aisle next to the hay stall door. Now I just have to stack them in the hay stall in this nice weather. Morton is coming out to retrofit 9'WX8'H garage door on the outside wall of the hay stall. Then I will be able to place them in the stall with the grapple, no more moving them by hand.

Getting stuff done outside today and tomorrow as the NWS is calling for 100% chance of rain on Saturday.

I could use another freeze. We saw 2 large mosquitoes buzzing around a couple of days ago.

Definitely need another freeze. When mosquitoes, moths, crane flies etc
start showing up in Feb......what's April May & June gonna be like?
We're in a moderate drought w/ a county burn ban. My burn pile
keeps getting bigger. Need the rain, but then that makes the ground to
wet to work. If it's not one thing it's another. Kinda sounds like farm life.
