Don, it s going to be a copper vaining. It's a black back ground with like a heavy copper flake. I was hoping it would be ready Wednesday or Thursday, but no such luck.

The powder coater I use is a small shop. He had some other jobs come in for a color he was already running so my job slip a day or two. Something he informed me of up front. I'm usually not in a hurry and it takes 3 or 4 days. This time I'm really wanting it back and it's been 7 now. Just my luck! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Oh well, it is Friday the 13th. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

James, I really like that bed, even if it is too big for any bedroom in my house. I'm really anxious to see it finished. Is it going to get a clear topcoat? I don't remember if you said anything about that.

Got the bed back form powder coat today. We are real happy with the results. Here is a picture of it in it's final resting spot.

Jim, it did not get a clear coat. The powder coat alone holds up well outside. With the bed being inside it should do fine. I done a few other smaller pieces of furniture in the past and have not had any problems.

Here is a close up of a star. Hopefully this will give a better idea of the color and finish.

Thanks guy's for the complements. It was a fun project. Best thing now is the misses has a project added to her list. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The bed needs a Texas or American Flag quilt to top it off. I wonder which will come first the quilt or night stands? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Only time will tell.

MF1455v, When I saw the finished product I was thinking that the perfect bed spread would be one of those quilts like my grandmothers made, the one with the small squares of different material in some type of design. It would whisper authentic Texas with a smile.
