My 1998 TG1860G (Kawasaki 2 cyl. engine) with 850 hours had a carb problem where it alternately starved, and other times almost flooded itself. Last summer I pulled the float bowl, and found that the float is made of some sort of plastic material... it seemed to have expanded slightly, binding on casting burrs on the inside of the carb. Sometimes it would stick up, causing the starve, sometimes it would stick down a bit, causing the engine to flood out.
I cleaned up the burrs on the inside of the carb, just above where the float bowl seats, and the problem seemed to be solved. A year later, in the last month or so, the problem has returned.
Anybody else run into this ??? Any thoughts ???
