Thanks to all Vets. I am truly humbled by the service you gave and give and always remember that there are those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while being thankful for those who returned safely.

From a father with two sons who serve................

scesnick - This is my first year on the "other side" of the fence as a veteran since 1971 and from my personal experience, each era of wearing the uniform has produced heros. In most cases, they may not have done what the outside would consider an heroic act, but put one foot in front of the other to do their duty and support there fellow "G.I."

IMHO a hero is all of the folks who put their lives, families, and self-interests aside to serve our Nation. I think we need to not only thank the Veteran, but the families left behind - some forever.

While this is the first year I'm not part of a "formal" veterans day activity, I will be visiting a vets home to take some books and just say hello. It is something my wife and I have done a few times a year. I think we sometimes forget our veterans on days other than Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th. So, if nothing else, I hope everybody reachs out to a vet you know and just say thanks....

Can't agree more with thanking the families. My bride has been serving as either a Military Wife or a Military Mom without a break in service since February 1969. Navy daughter, Air Force and Army sons and an Army husband.

Thank you vets of all services and eras and thank you wives and moms.

God bless you all and God bless America.

Every cruise book I have (many) all have a back page with a list of names of those who didn't return. Funny, a bunch of folks who just got towed back to San Diego on that cripled cuise ship now know what a Navy cruise is like, no hot water, bad food, non working toilets.
