D3 is 1978 according to the serial number. The only repair I did was to replace the brake bands and Peterson Tractor in San Leandro has outstanding parts department... they treat me like I'm their only customer.
The inside city limits is only 20 acres that are very rugged with several hundred feet of elevation change and 3 ridges... the city gave the option to put in fire or hand cut all 20 acres each year after the 1991 Firestorm in the Oakland Hills.
It was slow going because the ridges are serpentine rock... also meant that the trails change very little because large parts are rock.
In the off season I would start and move the D3 through the motions about every 6 weeks...
Now have a JD 350C at my brothers... it is a good machine although I miss not having my D3 when working at his ranch.
Most of my time is spent in the SF Bay Area... my Olympia place is rented and Austria is shuttered... the last 4 years of work has been brutal as far as taking time off... not really possible when your department has shrunk to a department of one.
