Hi Imwashere, What size/brand/year truck do you pull your tractor with? If Automatic do you have an auxiliary trans. cooler? I have a 1998 Tacoma Prerunner 3.4 liter V6 with automatic trans. I spoke to local guy that pulls his TYM 293 FEL with the same size truck and has not had problems, even in the mountains. The LS 3033 is a heavier tractor by approx. 500+ lbs.? I plan to add an auxiliary trans. cooler with electric fan. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Solinski

:welcome: to TBN!

Happy :tractor: ing!

You might want to think about posting smaller pictures, the size of yours might cause some upload time problems for some members that have slower conections!

I have an 03 dodge Durango. It has the 4.7 L V8 and is rated to tow 5K. I don't have any extras other than a receiver, but then I don't plan on pulling this tractor anywhere other than to the shop. And that is only if something breaks or it needs something that I cannot do. Even then I may wind up having to leave the loader if it is not needed. The problem is that you have to figure tractor-ballast-loader-trailer combined weight and still come in at or below your max. I have access to a Chevrolet 2500HD, but it is a pain to go and get as it is about an hour away. If I need to haul the whole mess, I would probably go and get it.

I think your Yota should have a 5K rating as well if it is properly equipped. Check your owners manual. I would try to stay below that rating, especially if you plan on pulling the tractor regularly. Overloading your ride is a good way to get a new one... or worse. If you are going to be close to your max and pulling it often, I would look at the coolers and invest in supplemental braking systems.

Imwashere, Properly equiped my 1998 Tacoma is tow rated 5,000 lbs. and gross combined weight is 9,000 lbs.(Toyota Owners Manual)I have access to certified scales 2 miles away and Tacoma weighs 3820 lbs. empty. 9,000lbs. gross minus 3820lbs. leaves 5180 lbs. minus 180 lbs. for driver, so dead on at 5,000 lbs. Double axle 18' car trailer est. 1500 lbs+ LS 3033 est. 3,500 lbs= 5,000 lbs. which leaves no room for errors! Thanks for your towing advice and info!
