Thanks to Jinman for looking so thrilled in his post about his new dump trailer and thanks to my wife for noticing, I picked up a new trailer today. I have been looking at trailers for nine years and seriously shopping for about five years and I was able to finally pull the trigger today. The good thing about looking for so long was I found out exactly what I did and did not want on a trailer.
This is a 7' x 18' Texas Bragg, pipe top, electric brakes, bulldog hitch and slide in ramps. I did go ahead and get the spare tire which was $170 mounted. I knew I would kick myself for not doing it if I ever end up on the side of the road. This trailer will be used for many purposes but mainly to transport my zero turn to mow my wife's grandparent's place and also to transport my L3830 to cut my grandparent's place. My wife is looking forward to finally being able to safely transport 16' lumber. She doesn't get the same rush as I do by balancing the 16' boards in the 6' short bed of my pickup.

That's a fine looking trailer, but I hope you're not taking too much excitement out of your life by starting with not having to balance 16' lumber in a short bed pickup.

Looks like a nice rig. When you set up a box to hold your chain and tie downs invest in a $15 HF 6 ton bottle jack and a $8 HF folding 4 way wrench. The first time I had a flat pulling my trailer I though I was all set having a spare. Well the trucks jack broke trying to lift the trailer loaded with 66 bags of sack concrete then when I did get it lifted my Fords F-250 lug wrench did not fit.

I bought the items I listed and they now live with the trailer.

Looks very nice, so does the yard, do the leaves even fall off the trees down there:)

What's the GVW? With that type of construction having the pipe across the top it would make the trailer stronger just like a truss.

Good Luck, JB.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought about my pickup's jack not being able to lift the trailer with a big load on it.

I think the pipe top gives the trailer more strength over a standard angle iron top. The GVWR is 7,000 lbs.

Buckle97, nice trailer, I have a 16' BigTex with the pipe top also. If you haven't loaded your ZTR you may find you will need longer ramps than the 4' ones provided if you load/unload on a flat surface.

That is a very nice trailer. I like it. The one thing that caught my eye is the extra bracing on the railing to the bottom of the a frame hitch. I never saw a setup like that. Any comments on the additional bracing ?

Great looking trailer, a good trailer is an excellent investment.

I use mine more than I ever thought I would.

My neighbor just asked today to borrow next week.

Trailers are worth their weight in gold.

That one will be a hand me down one day.

Several manufactures use that style of bracing, my trailer is done a little different, there is an additional triangle box behind the hitch with a "C" channel going to the frame, it does the same thing but is just flat.

My trailer had that brace and I cut it out to put my strap/chain box out on the tongue. The problem is now when I want to use the winch I mounted to the top rail I have to snug it down with two ratchet straps to prevent bending of the front rail.
