Thanks Jinman, I got a new trailer too!

That is a very nice trailer. I like it. The one thing that caught my eye is the extra bracing on the railing to the bottom of the a frame hitch. I never saw a setup like that. *Any comments on the additional bracing ?

If you haven't loaded your ZTR you may find you will need longer ramps than the 4' ones provided if you load/unload on a flat surface.

I hadn't thought about that being a problem. I have a set of wooden ramps with the metal ends on them to make a flat loading angle and I may have to use them to load the ztr. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I have no plans to mount a toolbox on this trailer so the extra bracing is a postive thing for my needs. I have seen some people who mount their spare tire on that brace but I like having the spare tire on the side rail.

Thanks to Jinman for looking so thrilled in his post about his new dump trailer and thanks to my wife for noticing, I picked up a new trailer today. I have been looking at trailers for nine years and seriously shopping for about five years and I was able to finally pull the trigger today. The good thing about looking for so long was I found out exactly what I did and did not want on a trailer.
This is a 7' x 18' Texas Bragg, pipe top, electric brakes, bulldog hitch and slide in ramps. I did go ahead and get the spare tire which was $170 mounted.

Dang! Lawrence, I almost didn't see your thread. I just read it today. That trailer is almost identical to my 18' utility trailer. I think there are a lot of trailers made in a single plant somewhere and then tailored to each trailer brand name. My trailer was manufactured by Top 3, I believe. It's structure is exactly the same as yours. I bought mine over 10 years ago and it needs new boards in the bed, but the frame, pipe top, sockets for sideboards, and ramps all mount the same as yours right down to the lynchpins holding the ramps in place.

When I bought my trailer, they could still sell them with used tires and no brakes. With the "good stuff" missing, my trailer was only $1095 brand new. It's hard to find a used one at that price today.

I think you'll lkie that trailer and find lots of uses for it. You'll also have all kinds of new "friends.":D

BTW: On a recent trip, I stopped by the Texas Pride facility in Madisonville, Tx and bought a spare. They sold it to me at the unbelievable price of $150 for a steel belted, load range E, 8 bolt wheel. These folks sure have treated me right.

My next project with my dump trailer is to install two shuttle valves and hoses so I can use my tractor's hydraulics for the dump bed. I'm getting my parts list together now.
