Kubota L3901 TLB
First time, sorta short time...

Just wanted to say thanks to all the members who post on Tractor by Net. I started researching for a tractor purchase in September and finally made the purchase. Wife and I purchased a 2016 Kubota L3901 with 195 hours on it. Has a backhoe, FEL, Three function front end valve, filled tires and two hooks welded on the FEL and a few other helpful options. The original owner wanted to upgrade to the larger framed L4701 and traded it in.

Coming from a family that had never purchased a tractor, when the research started on this site, it was and still is invaluable. The insight on tractor's and the posters knowledge here is amazing. Purchasing a tractor that is right for ones needs is a big task. Its not like a car or other vehicle purchase. I quickly learned that and the more you learn about tractors, you realize the less you know.

Tractor size and dimensions, backhoe, horsepower and weight were some of the major factors used to make this purchase. For what we need it to do it made sense.

I could go on and on about how much this site helped.... but the rule is post a picture or it didn't happen..

Thanks

Thanks...

3 Kubotas... wow!!

I sat on some Yanmar's, John Deere, New Holland and did a lot of research on Kioti but this one seemed the best fit.

Many signs, that I read about here, that a tractor was well taken care of were showing on this one.. grease oozing from almost every seal etc..

The dealer was very honest about everything and did the maintenance on it as well... Had a great relationship with the old owner, who purchased the new L47 from the same dealer as well...

Pretty much any question I had about tractors was answered on posts on this site...

Just learning how to operate it... and there is a lot to learn... havent bumped into anything I couldnt knock over yet...

Thanks all...

Grease oozing from seals is a bad thing & typically means it was over greased & blew out the seals or worn out seals. However there are very few sealed bearings on a tractor (steering parts & gears on PTO impliments mostly). I'm sure you are referring to pins & bushings on the loader or backhoe. Those dont have any seals. So overgreasing there just means wasted grease & a globby mess, but properly lubricated & happy pins or bushings underneath.

Except for sealed bearings overgreasing is way better than under greasing. Both can destroy sealed bearings.

I am referring to the pins and bushings of the FEL and backhoe... Any place I could find a grease nipple appeared to be well maintained... That's all my lack of terminology for the correct location...

Congrats on your tractor. I think you did good.

You will find as you peruse the forums that there are a few debbie downers just ignore and move on. My avatar makes fun of that. ;o)
