Dittos, Thanks to all, past and present, especially those who gave their all.

It wouldn't be America without you.

Don't thank us, you have a sweet deal, and you EARNED it.

I have a friend who's father is a retired Marine Col. since 1974. He gets like 3x the money now, than he got in 1974. Two wars, and a chest full of medals, he's worth every penny! He is still serving his country daily, in his community. A true American hero, a better American, than most could ever hope to be.

Agreed, thanks to all veterans. And for clarification, Veterans day recognizes veterans and a veteran is anyone who has served active duty, not just those who have retired or been in combat. Obviously, the greatest honor goes to combat vets and those who gave their working life (retirees) to the service of our country.

Memorial Day is to honor those who have died in the armed services. To those go the greatest honor.

I served 6 years in the USAF and ended my duty as a Major. It was a great experience but my 6 years was very easy, and with little self sacrifice. I have great respect for those who have served in conflicts, spent endless days away from home and loved ones and/or served until retirement. I salute them.
