Well, we're about to hit the road on our way to Grandma's house for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sadly, there is no connectivity there, so I'll be getting way behind on TractorByNet. I'll just have to console myself with about a half-acre of turkey, stuffing, potatos, cranberries, pumpkin pies, etc. Oh yeah -- and it just so happens that that's where my tractor lives. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Sounds like the weather might even cooperate for a day or two, so if ain't too muddy I'm sure I'll find something that needs tractorin'. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I'll be testing out two new revs of the Chalkley Cup -- one with magnets re-applied with Amazing Goop (and cured for 3 weeks now), and the other with a special hi-tech glue specifically formulated for polypropylene. Also some mild enhancements on the ROPS rack -- stay tuned for a post-holiday report (now that ought to bring you to the edge of your seat /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif).

Best wishes to y'all (my cyber-family?) -- hope you have one heck of a fine turkey day! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

HARV, with all those great goodies to eat and the "tractor" too play with, I think I could grit my teeth and tough it out without TRACTORBYNET for a couple of days! jim.

Harv, around here this is Grandma's house./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif So the kids and grandkids will be here (a couple of grandkids already here). Grandma's been baking pecan and pumpkin pies and applesauce cake, and I'm getting ready to fry two turkeys in the morning; one plain and one Cajun./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Forecast calls for rain starting this evening, but that won't put much of a damper on things, since the turkey fryer is in the shop building.

Hope everyone has as good a Thanksgiving as we intend to have!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I sure will add my best wishes to everyone this Thanksgiving. If you eat to much turkey, just think of it as adding extra traction to your tractor./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Happy Holiday!

BIRD, I live at Grandma's house also. Margie has been bakin pies and making salads etc, all day & has the turkey thawed and the dressing all made an ready to bake. She has to be at work at 4:00 this evening. She is on her 20th year as a police dispatcher for the Woodruff County Sheriff's Office. She dispatches for the county and the cities of Augusta, McCrory, Cotton Plant and Patterson. She was my dispatcher when I was still working. She told me where to go at work and what to do at home. Haha. I guess my kids won't start their on traditions until granny and I are Gone. Margie will have to do thanksgiving diner and still be at work at 4:00 tomorrow. You know all to well that in public service work you have to work a lot of holidays May all the members have a happy and SAFE Thanksgiving. We should all be thankful for all that we have, when so many in the world will go hungry tomorrow! jim

Harv,
I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving also pleasant weekend.

After your Thanksgiving dinner a little seat time on your tractor might just help, /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif that way you'll have room for another piece of pie later on. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Take Care.

How well I know that routine, Jim. For a good part of the time I was gainfully employed, I worked most weekends and holidays. I never worked as a dispatcher, but my first 5 years as a Captain, I was Commander of the Communications Division (of course in Dallas that was 150+ people).

Ditto to the Happy turkey day to all!!!!!!May you all have a safe and happy holiday. I've got the grandparents coming to my house as well as the brothers sisters and grandchildern (not mine I'm too young) all coming to the house tomorrow so it will be a full and happy house to say the least.

Prayers to all who aren't doing so well. (To Wes and others)

Let the carving knife be sharp and the turkey be moist---I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

We use to have Thanksgiving at my parents home, then my Dad passed away, and Mom, now in her eighties, has had heart surgery, so us kids have been doing our own tradition for the past couple of years. Great memories, but time marches on. Happy Thanksgiving to all./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
