Tractor
Kubota BX25, 60" MMM, 3 point hitch
Wow! I've been wanting a tractor since we moved into this house 16 years ago, but out of necessity, I just bought and used what I needed to get by. Needless to say, I did a lot of work by hand. We started out with a Yardman 15 hp mower which went through 3 hst transmissions before I gave up and bought a used 1977 JD 210 garden tractor with mower deck. It still works & I'm keeping it for around the house. Then I wanted an old Ford N, went to wanting a Ford 600 series, MF135, Ford 1500, 1700 series, something from JD a bit newer but used, used Kubota's, and never got any of them. Then finally I wanted----no needed a new Kubota. We have 2 acres just outside the city limits of Pittsburgh, PA and I take care of 3 more adjacent to our property for a neighbor who can't do it anymore. It's mostly grass surrounded on the edges by woods. We have a 500' gravel driveway. Today I did it! I went to Murphy Family, Inc. in Washington, PA and bought a new BX25 with a 60" mower and 3 pt kit. I took the money I was saving intending to pay cash in 12 or 15 months and used it for a down payment and financed the rest at 0% for 48 months. It will be delivered next week. I will post the required pictures. Vince at Murphy was great. He gave me a tour of the display floor, repair shop and parts department. The financing went through in less than 3 hours. I'm thrilled! This machine will enable me to keep the homestead up as I slowly get older.
Even though this is only my 3rd post, I've been reading and gathering information since I joined many months ago when I finally got serious about buying a tractor. Thank you all for taking the time to answer questions, provide information and opinions. All of this info plus my own research made this process much easier. I can't wait until next week!

Congratulations on your new BX25 purchase. It's my favorite Kubota, use it more than any I own or have owned. My 64 year old bones are now telling me I should have gotten one sooner.

Congratulations! You have made the smartest move in 16 years. You will be just as tired at days end - but you will have much more accomplished. You also took advantage of Kubota's great financing and have a NEW machine with a warranty - not someone else's troubles.

Thanks everyone for the congratulations!

Does it seem like this week is going by really, really slow to anyone else? I don't even have a for sure delivery date yet except that it will be next week. Fortunately, I have a flexable schedule so I can be here when they can deliver.

Also, does anyone else find themselves looking for ways to spend more money after ther get a new tractor? I already want a tooth bar, wheel spacers for when I have only the mower on, a landscape rake, rototiller, chains and about a half dozen other small things including 5 gal. diesel fuel containers and some Power Service. This could be the start of a real money hole! Ha! At least now I'll be able to dig it myself with the backhoe.

Answer to first question: no, but the week I waited for my BX sure did.

Answer to second question: Absolutely. And, I've done it. The 1860 came with FEL and mower, and I've added snowblower, cab, and rear blade. Now I'm thinking about a bush hog. It never ends. Enjoy it! :)

Oh ,for sure on the attachments  When you start thinking what you can do if only you had " this attachment" then you'll be hooked . The only thing is which one I'd use the most first:D The way I can justify getting new Att. is to keep telling my wife that the more I have the more I can do with it :D (Once in awhile it works:laughing:)
Congrats on the new Tractor!

Congratulations on the new tractor. Nothing like that "new tractor smell". Enjoy it and post some pictures when you can.

I'm probably not going to see it delivered this week, but the salesman did email me and said that he will contact me this week with delivery date and details. I can wait! It is still January and anything I could do would be a mucky mess. Then I' d have to be washing it in the cold.

Congrats Paulemar! Your life is now changed (for the better) and you can never go back (you'll wonder why you waited so long). You haven't even gotten the tractor yet, and you're lusting over implements already - ain't it great to be alive?

Congrats the BX25 is a great little machine. I've had mine for over 3 years and it's done everything I've needed so far. ENJOY!

The BX25 arrived late this afternoon (4:00PM) 2/10/12. I got the show & tell from Vince who sold and delivered it to me, and then I parked it and promptly covered it with a tarp because of the impending snow that is forcast. I totally forgot to take a picture until 5 minutes ago. I only got to ride around for about 10 minutes before I put it away.

I took the picture with it mostly still covered with the tarp. I uncovered the front so you guys would not think that it was really a pile of wood and not a BX25. It's supposed to be pretty nasty this weekend, but I'll post more pictures as soon as I can. I got the 60" mower and the 3 point hitch kit along with the tractor. This should make a lot of chores much easier. I just can't let my wife know that yard work is now going to be play time.
