My experience with greasing is that I'm much more apt to grease if I have a air grease gun. It makes it so the job is just a few minutes.

Definitely agree!!
You do need a compressor with some cubic footage though...mine is about 40 cubic feet of a bit bigger.

With apologies to Captain Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean

1: "You ain't a pirate!"
2: "It ain't really a rule, it's more like a guide line" Harrh!

I am curious as to why everyone seems to think that if the loader is installed but isn't being used it doesn't need grease? Unless you are stationary or running on perfectly flat ground, the loader is bouncing and the most highly loaded points of the pins and bushings stay in the same spot taking the high load. Lube gets hammered out and there is no rotation to redistribute lube. I admit I don't grease as often if I am not using the loader but having seen the damage from the condition I have described on the larger construction equipment on which I spent so much time, just curious as to why this isn't an issue on CUT equipment.

My mini-excavator was an ex-rental machine. The dealer had added a very large red decal "I NEED GREASE TO LIVE". I grease it daily and immediately after every cleanup to make sure I purge water that might get in the pivots. I also grease at lunch and breaks if I am digging in muck. Takes like a couple extra minutes. Mornings I start it up, then grease while the engine is warming up. It's also a good time to inspect for anything that is out of sorts.

Beats me; just the way I have always done it except when I was farming and then it was grease everything every morning; course I then ran for ten hours or more.

I have yet to replace any pins and our 86 MF is as tight as ever.
