The 1736 so far...

We have had a few issues with our 1736. One was the same fuel issue you have. Dealer worked on it and now we can at least put a full 10 gallons in instead of 5 at a time. Still have an odd issue when in high 1st or 2nd where it jerks (shimmies might be a better word) when releasing clutch. Oddly when using the forward/reverse shifter on the steering wheel (not hydro) to take off it never shimmies.
Most recently we had a major issue. Was using a soil buster plow in lowest gear and it hit a root or rock. Was barely moving and the sheer bolt on the soil buster never broke. However, the axle casing where the right lower three point pivot connects cracked. I don稚 mean a hairline crack either. Fluid just poured out. Broke bothe sides of the axle casing. It is at the dealer now being fixed. Had I been moving fast and hit something then I might understand this happening, but at low speeds this should never happen (axle should be strong enough for the rated hp of the tractor and wheels should have just spun).

Oh my, That sounds like a significant crack and sorry to learn of your situation.

Do you have any pictures?

I hope they are able to get it repaired quickly for you, any idea on time frame for the repair/what parts are they replacing?

I,m assuming the lower control arms are the same as my 1742. Being a total newb when I bought, never thought about it. After owning for a while and looking closer, it truly looks like a poorly designed attachment point for major load bearing work. I'm wondering if it is a factor with any more owners.

Hope this image comes through. Hard to get a perspective from the photo unless you know what you are looking at. I agree with metalbender though, seems like an odd place to mount the lower arms to. I have not heard back from the dealer yet but will update when I do.
By the way, that photo was taken after I towed it about 100 yards, the crack was initially much smaller.

Yep that痴 pretty ugly almost like the casting was flawed. Hope you get it figured out and fixed.
A person would almost need to have a ripper 6 inches in the ground going maybe wide open and run into a cement slab or one huge rock to do that kinda damage one would think.

My thoughts exactly on the metal being flawed. Still waiting on dealer who is working with MF to make sure they will cover it under warranty. Fingers crossed.

Will be interesting to see what they Say and do, under normal operating conditions that should never happen unless the casting was flawed, the 3pt was way overloaded or the internals exploded.

Well, after two weeks of dealer waiting to hear from MF, called them directly. They responded quickly, approved the repairs under warranty and are working to get parts to the dealer. Good to see them standing behind their product.

That sounds awesome, glad they are taking care of you, do they have any idea what caused the problem yet ?
