Also, tracks came yesturday:D But they were misshandled and I think my mount kit was lost:mad: so I have to wait till next week to install
Gotta do the weekend x-mas traveling so I'll post up the install through test trials when I get back home!!

I'll get a few pics the next time it's uncovered. Can't wait to hear how the 500 does on tracks, that should be darn near unlimited fun :D

Dixie and General...Are you both in the path of the storm?

In my area, we have about 2.5 inches, maybe 3. Not enough to worry about getting on the tractor. I'm fighting a cold and have been trying to get my winch installed on the RTV500 today. Otherwise I probably would have been out playing on the tractor.

That's good news..Should look into a plow for the 500...Much easier than a tractor. Just my .02.

Shake off that cold.

Yepper, got about 16" of snow along with the nice 30 mph winds.:confused2: I should have snapped a few pics of my buggy but never got the chance, I was in full speed ahead snow removal mode to get it done so I could get to work.

Couple of comments:
1) I am frankly surprised the Kubota 500 has enough power to push a plow. I just bought a 500 and I hadn't considered (up to now) adding a plow because of power concerns. Do you plow in low or high range typically? (I read a thread somewhere about adjusting the throttle. This task is on my "to do" list.)
2) Tell me more about this plow you guys are referencing. Did you buy it online somewhere or at local tractor store? And what width? here in Missouri we have snows but 95% of snows are less than 10".

I have about 7 hours on my 500. It is "OK" power wise for what I will be doing with it. I have a 32 horsepower tractor and a 4x4 ATV to do tasks the RTV won't do. I believe the owners on this board that say it will push snow. I imagine you will have to use low gear. My dealer had one with a plow set up on it. Not sure of the brand but it was 1400 bucks for the setup.

The 500 is SLOW but will pull and climb like a goat. Even though I only have 7 hours on mine, everything previous owners have stated on this board about the unit is true. You have to accept the machine for what it is and decide on its intended uses. It is not quad, its for work not play. If I want to play, I get on my ATV.

I am new here as well as new to owning a UTV. I bought a '09 Mule 610 (similar it the Kubota 500) with the idea of using it for chores around the property, and with the hope of plow mying 450ft driveway. Well we just got about about 1ft of snow and it worked remarkable well. I did plow it twice though, and it was a light snow, but it work great on my gravel driveway. So I can believe that the Kubota would be successful as well. My plow setup is unique and I will post up that later tonight.

1) I plow in low range. It has plenty of power to push the plow and traction has not been a concern yet, later in the winter that may change.

2) I'm a cheapskate, I refused to pay $1500 for the Kubota plow at my local dealer. I already had a winch on my RTV 500 so I went with an American Eagle country style 60" plow, it looks like this

There are a couple things I really like about the plow.....the lift height is awesome, with the plow all the way up it's over the hood height wise. I also like that I can pull 2 pins and unhook my winch cable to remove the plow, installation and removal takes under 5 minutes after the frame is on your buggy. The down sides are you need to drill 4 holes from under your buggy to bolt the plow frame on, I didn't really have an issue with doing that but it's worth noting, the only other downside I see is that you have to get off the buggy to angle the plow....it's easy to angle but it's not as convenient as an electric or hydraulic angle would be. In the future I may invest in an electric angle add on for my plow. Delivered to my door the plow was just over $600 complete, that includes the mount, mounting bolts, rubber top flap.....everything, the only additional item I got for mine was 2-3/4" hitch pins because they include 2 bolts/nuts to hold the plow to the frame, I wanted to be able to remove my plow quickly and without tools so for $10 I bought quick hitch pins to get it done.
