Some people get upset when you call them stupid because they can't spell. I learned to spell long before computers would tell you were stupid by underlining a word for you in red. I find it hard to believe people hit the "Post Quick Reply" button when half the words they just typed have been underlined in red. When you're trying to make a point and I see misspelled words and the words used improperly (like their/there) I have little faith you know what you are talking about if you write like a 4th grader.
I guess you are so smart and perfect that it never occurred to you that spell check functions are not universal across all software and hardware platforms?
Some of us type on small devices that make editing OVERLY cumbersome.. and have keys SMALLER than our fingertips. in some cases i can have 4 keys under my finger at once. Don't even get me started about touch screen typing...
If the average adult SHOULD BE able to parse the text.. I let it fly. Studies show that MOST people's brains can parse text data if the first and last letter of a word are correct and the size / length of the word is close. Methinks those complaining the loudest about not being able to read some other posts due to a simple spelling error therin, may fall in that 'low' 10% outside the curve.
just sayin'
