The Avatar thread

This thread has got me thinking that I must figure out what I want for an avatar..

I'm also still having a hard time adjusting to TripleR in the process of changing his. It was always that instant recognition to stop and read carefully. If this were a voting site I'd motion that TripleR put his back....:D

I peruse TBN using my iPhone, which has certain limitations. It's hard to see detail on the avatar. But, I always glance a the avatar to see if I recognize the poster. Because of that, I appreciate the consistency. But, I fully understand the search for the avatar that represents who you are or wish to portray.

Banana anyone??

My biggest problem in getting an avatar was finding one that was as handsome as I am.

I would LIKE to have a witty reply....but I have NO idea what your avatar is!! On the iPhone it looks like a 2012 version of the Planters Peanut guy.

I know you mentioned something about it, but it didn't register (kids are grown, grand kid is a baby).

TripleR: This is my dad, sorry i dont have any of us working together. . . .John

Great pictures, thanks for posting them.

I regret never taking the time to get any of my father or father in law who was my best friend.

Done; can't really think of anything else to use.

My Avatar is a picture of Princess - My previous neighbour's cat, which used to come over to our house a lot, probably because I was the cat sitter for her a few times and she got used to me.

It was sad to have to move house and leave her behind, but at least I have plenty pictures of her!

At Christmas I put a Christmasy picture up, but apart from that, it stays the same.

I don't use them. Don't think I ever did. As a matter of fact I even find the graphics in post bodies to be excessive and distracting. Especially the signature lines.

I'm with those who suggest leaving avatars the same. I've thought about changing mine, but then I remember how anytime someone changes their avatar it messes me up for a few days until I readjust.

When I was deciding on an avatar I thought it would be appropriate to have a toy tractor to go with my user name. My son was really into Thomas the Tank Engine (he's still into Thomas), and the first toy tractor that came to mind was Trevor the Traction engine.

I chose mine because of all the things I do with my little tractor / giant lawnmower, plowing is the most relaxing.
