I met him several years ago in Florida. I thing it was 1989-90 ish.. I remember thinking that he was much bigger in person than I thought he would be. Also for the brief meeting he was gracious and very outgoing.
No other opinion of him otherwise but certainly will be missed by his loved ones.

Watched Smokey and Bandit last night (it's now on Netflix or AP).

From now on, whenever I disagree with someone, I'm gonna tell them:

We used to use that line quite often, when we were young punks. We thought were pretty clever too. I should have done all my financial investments back when i was so smart.
