I got a real kick out of this video, I think you will too. I don't understand how this concept never took off. It seems so effective and simple. Probably someone here could fab up a pair of these fairly easily. I'd love to see it done.

I had looked into this once.

They were made by Armstead Snow Motors Company

There were several problems that kept this design from catching on.

They did not work well in deep, dry, powder snow, ice, and hard dry ground.

And, apparently they wore out quickly, and were easily damaged, in the soft, wet, terrain they worked best in.

The commies tried this design on a tank once.
