Dick Dale, surfing music, guitar guru of Dick Dale and the Deltones, died at age 81. I danced at a live performance of his when I was in the Navy, ca. 1963 at the Rendezvous Ballroom, Balboa Island, CA.

I'll be honest; I don't remember this guy. I remember when Randy Rhoads died (37 years ago today, in fact), as I was a big fan (of RR) and had just seen him at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis about six weeks earlier. I remember Brad Gillis from Night Ranger finishing the tour with Ozzy, but I don't remember Torme at all.
