The day the music died.

I saw a TV show about Jeff Beck and how he got into restoring old cars and motorcycles. Not just collecting them but doing all the work on them himself. The quality of his restorations was second to none.
I was always amazed how the album Wired could tell a story with no lyrics. They interviewed many of the top guitar heroes on one show and asked who they would rate as number one, they all said Jeff Beck. 🍻

I was surprised to see how little attention was paid when Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots died.
He was the best stage performer of the 90’s. Saw STP’s like 10 times. A bit “out there”, but an amazing front man.

Interstate Love Song is still my fav of all time.
It is one of the best songs ever. Saw STP and Alice in chains in 99. That was a concert.

What a great loss.

You, who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live by
And so, become yourself
Because the past is just a goodbye
Teach your children well
Their father's hell did slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by
Don't you ever ask them, "Why?"
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you
And you (Can you hear?) of tender years (And do you care?)
Can't know the fears (And can you see?)
That your elders grew by (We must be free)
And so, please help (To teach your children)
Them with your youth (What you believe in)
They seek the truth (Make a world)
Before they can die (That we can live in)
And teach your parents well
Their children's hell will slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by
Don't you ever ask them, "Why?
If they told you, you will cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you

Some of those harmonies are just unbelievable...!

Not Crosby related but...:
Got to see CSN&Y at Tampa Stadium...some redneck kept lighting off m80s or other loud fireworks...Steve Stills got really mad...Neal Young just sat there in his wicker chair (with his hound dog laying underneath) laughing...

Also not Crosby related...Roger McGuinn resides (or did until I moved here) in a small coastal beach town where I grew up...(Indian Rocks Beach FL)...used to see him in one of the local oyster bars on a regular basis...sometimes he would bring a guitar...
A lot of the Byrds songs are on my go to playlists...!

David Crosby has passed at age 81. I guess that his drugs had well preserved him to last that long? Personal habits aside, his music was some of my favorites.
