James Kottak former drummer for the Scorpions passed away today.

Yeah, just saw that. Fun band, really enjoyed them in the 1980's. Not exactly the complex stuff I usually prefer, but they fit a time and place. Like so many of those 80's metal bands, such as my earlier comments on Winger or Living Colour, I suspect the talents of some of their members stretched way beyond what they could show within the limits of what kept them popular.

Just found out yesterday that Alvin Lee from ten years after was dead. Some sort of brain tumor at age 69. Scary I'm 69!
