Jarrett - I received quotes from 5 different dealers, but I did not go with the lowest of the five (didn't like the salesman). I originally wanted the LA513 loader and was quoted a low of $3150 and a high of $3695. I also asked for a quote on the L3130 GST from the very first dealer I talked to. They were the highest priced dealer of all five on the HST, and they wanted $13,195 for the GST plus $700 for the R4's. Based on those numbers, your looking at $17390 for the GST, R4's, and LA513. So that leaves your dealer tossing in the box blade for $110. In most cases the difference between GST and HST is only $500. Keep in mind though, this dealer was the highest I received quotes from.

Not sure if these numbers amount to anything. In your case the tax is the killer. Any way to step across state lines to eliminate the tax? Or will your state still have you paying it in the long run?

On the L3430 - I might suggest that you look at the L3830 if you and your dad want to go up a notch. The L3430 only has three more horses (both tractor and PTO) than the L3130. As a result, it really can't pull anything more that the L3130 can. Both tractors are built on the same frame and there is no difference in weight. To "officially" go up to the next size cutter you would need 35 PTO HP. The L3803 misses that mark, but only by a couple of HP. Most of the dealers I spoke to do not carry the L3430 because it's more expensive, but can't really do anymore work than the L3130. Just a thought! Well it's on the way, being delivered tomorrow. We came to the conclusion that the 3 extra HP wouldn't be worth the $1k extra. We rode over to the dealer so my Dad could look at the tractors. They were hooking up the loader while we were there. I didn't realize, but the loader is coming with the quick attach bucket. Also included is the bucket level indicator. The Woods box blade isn't the medium or heavy duty box like I thought, but the GB60. This is the standard duty Woods box but compared to a Howse and Modern box they had there, the Woods is of much higher quality. It's kind of funny. When I drove the tractor Sat. it had ag tires. Now with the R4's it looks like a much bigger tractor, lol.

Spoke to my dealer today and the FEL is on it's way - suppose to be here this week. Looks like they will meet the time frame they were working for!

Went ahead an ordered manuals as well, hopefully 30 years from now I'll still be running the farm and enjoying my then classic Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
