The Future Of Steel Prices

I'll bet the increase in the cost of fiberglass can be directly attributed to escalating energy costs. A far as China floating the Yuan, they have been doing that forever. We better keep an eye on that bunch and react with the appropriate tarrifs or manufacturing in the US will be a thing of the past.

What have you been paying for structural steel, if you don't mind me asking?

What type and size and wall thickness? It really varies. For example 1.25" round bar was almost 5 times what 3/4" round bar was.

I just had 1000 lbs delivered 2 days ago so I got a good idea on current pricing here.

My average price for what I just had delivered was just under 45 cents per pound. However, my distributor's prices vary depending on the type and cut of steel you are purchasing and how much your preferred customer quantity discount is. Supply and demand usually dictates which cuts are more or less expensive.
