I always get a kick when folks from back east talk trophy weight. It's something you just don't hear out in this part of the world.

Congrats to your daughters on a great hunt. I'm surprised the weight is so close as they appear to be at least a year or two different in age. Looks like another great hunting memory they will carry forever.

Deer season here starts soon (12 I believe)and I have an elk tag which the late season runs all of December which is muzzleloader season for deer as well. I plan to get out as much as possible in Dec.

If you go with a euro mount and need a way to display these work great.

Well the girls already scored;189lb. nine point(DIL) and granddaughter(15yrs.old) 176lb.six point.This in very upstate NY.
Both shot at about 170 yards with a .243(of all things).Hand-loaded with 100gr.Accubonds.

I'm curious where very upstate NY is? I'm from way up there originally, and I still own a place there that I don't get to nearly as often as I would like. Just curious.

Got it. Grew up just east of you then in northern Franklin County, about 7 miles South of the border. The place I own there now is west of Plattsburgh in the Adirondack Park.
