The Kioti Is Ready For Snow!

Excellent pictures of snow. Sounds like I am not the only one who logged some quality snow hours today. I have to start collecting data on mirrors to save my neck!

We have a yard of snow. At 5 a.m. started plowing with the CK20 FEL and blade. Got the missus off to work at 7:30 and headed down to the second of five homes I had to do today. Normally our neighbors head out and travel but for different circumstances, this year all are still here in the north so that takes being a good neighbor to an all new level. I will say that any time I spend doing driveways is repaid many times over with everything from baked goods to helping out with the kids, etc.

Smelled something, hopped off the 2006 CK20 with 156 hours on it and saw the cooling unit for hydraulic fluid in front of the radiator sprung a leak and it was all over the engine compartment, alternator, everywhere. I think it sucked through the radiator and the fan blew it all over. So much for a warm cab.
Had to go get Dad's (he is in FL for a few weeks) JD990. The snow was drifted so high in front of the door of the barn I had to fight to get out. Finally, after 30 minutes I had a 15 by 15 area to manuver in. From 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. I had two hours off to heat up and the rest on the tractor pushing snow. Long day and cold.
Tri-County of Chaffee, NY is getting me a new unit for the Kioti under warranty. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can get back into a heated unit.
Tomorrow I will get a few photographs.

I had a blast doing my driveway and the sidewalk yesterday. The wife wasn't happy with it being Valentines day, but heck.. it was my birthday and I wanted to play!

The Ck25 worked great. I did the driveway twice with 3 inches on the ground both times, before and after work. I used the used "other orange" snowblower on the driveway which was nice, but I wish I had a cab like the others. The blowing snow/sleet was a pain. I was in my snow suit so, I wasn't cold.

It's nice we finally had a REAL snow storm here in Central Massachusetts.

We only received about a foot of snow here in NW Pa. The drifts were around two feet. For those who received more, I hope you enjoyed your seat time.

My CK30hst had plenty of power to push the snow, but the R4 tires just wouldn't dig in with a big pile behind the back blade. I finally had to install my rear chains. I had good traction but what a bumpy ride. The 8 ply R4s just don't flex like the R1s on my older Ford.

Everyone stay safe and warm.
