Then I used a ice and snow shield as a curtain to hang down from the sole plate over the Platon:

Now I am ready for the basement slab, and gravel to backfill the basement walls.

Filling the back wall will be a good thing. That narrow walk board is an accident waiting to happen.

Its really coming along. .

That there is still under debate.....she is leaning towards some shade of brown. The windows and doors are Desert Sand, so a tan or brown will go fine. On the last house I had a light tan, but the stove flue really stained it, so I am thinking something a little darker.

Rick,
I have always wanted a blue tin roof. That's my plan and I am sticking to it.

Ok, I know y'all think I have been slacking, but on one of those "days off" I drove to Nashville to get the 4" Styrofoam boards....70 of them. I didn't want to tow a trailer, so I put the "Back Porch" on the truck(a 6x7' hitch extension that I built for another project). All the foam fit, but I ended up being one of "those guys" on the interstate.....you know the one's you look at and shake your head? Driving 55 mph in a 70, not a chance of seeing a tail or brake light....a wee little home depot red flag to "alert" drivers not to smack into my barrier of foam:ashamed: But, I made it 8 hrs without incident:thumbsup:

Rick,
Did you figure out how to "critter proof" the ends of the styrofoam?
hugs, Brandi

Not yet. I am thinking a PT 1x4 covered with roof color matching 6"metal Gable trim & Drip Edge.

Make sure the metal you use won't be affected by the chemicals in the pressure treated wood. I know your not suppose to wrap PT wood with aluminum coil stock as it reacts. Same with certain nails, the treatment in the wood destroys the metal nails.

Are you planning on guttering the roof? Last winter here every metal roof I looked at had the gutters torn off by heavy snow. I would avoid them if possible. Your roof is especially steep and will make it even worse.
