I've been working on the loft & half bath. All the walls are up and I just need to do some trim work, build a vanity and install the sink & head. Lots of angles to cut and many trips up and down the ladder.

6" insulation in:

Cedar int he bathroom:

Poplar everywhere else and some had some nice spalting on it:

The large opening is access to the dead space "attic/storage area" & I will build a Z door for it. The opening above it is a shelf that the War Department requisitioned after a inspection yesterday:cool:

Closing in the other attic space:

& trimming out the window with spalted Poplar:

... Then again, I also heard Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari and rolls Royce have sold more cars in 2012 than ever before.

Hey WF, They don't call economic downturns an ECONOMIC WEALTH TRANSFER for no reason at all :)
It simply finds its way to the uber rich; you know, the ones managing the market I Owe I Owe It's Off To Work I Go....

(others just refer to these transfer periods as - recessions, depressions)

Have you looked at a water ram for moving the spring water to your house?

put a cistern near the house and ram pumping to it.

Tom, not enough flow for a ram....less than a pencil sized flow most of the time.

Hit a snag yesterday.....that big pile of Poplar(1,000bf)...is gone. I underestimated how much I would need by a few hundred bf :confused3: Now the dilema, even if I cut or buy more I will have to stick it in the solar kiln and that will take a few weeks to dry........grrrrr.

Rick,
Out of Poplar?:confused3: Foam the runway!:shocked: Do you have any Yellow Pine in your masterpiece?:confused:
Last Saturday, I took my grapple and Mahindra an hour away to help an old friend cutup and pile up two large dead oak trees. She was on her Dad's little Kubota and I was impressed with her loader skills pushing the smaller stuff (less than 2 feet in diameter). At lunch, I told her about your log house project.;) To which she added...................you need to buy a sawmill.:cloud9::applause::jump::yes::drink::cool2::dance1::thumbsup::cool::D
hugs, Brandi:us-texas::cowgirl:

Rick, you still haven't installed the well (or some other mysterious yet to be decided water supply). How much will this poplar delay impact your moving-in date?
