I was going to respond to your post, but I just got off the phone with my buddy and now it's my break time. I gotta go get a smoke. HEY LOUIE! Can you help this guy?. . . . . .

I generally find that a polite, "Come on, guys! Save me a trip to WalMart" does the trick.

Tell me what is so good about this brand of polish vs. the other brands out there in 2500 words or less. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Carquest and NAPA are franchised stores owned and operated by independent business people, usually from the community. In some cases, they might own more than one in a geographical area. The franchise is a chain, but the actual store ownership isn't. There is a big difference. I know no franchise company owned stores in the franchise system for these two franchises.

I think that in today's world, the links are more and more becoming chains.

I have a local NAPA in my neighborhood and he has business hours. M-F 8-5. How the heck does that help me? I work. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Wally world is at least OPEN........

The local hardware store gets my business for small items even if they're 2x as expensive. However when you start talking about a $50 difference in larger items you can't overlook what K-Mart can offer you. Going broke yourself at the expense of the little man won't help either of us. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For me that depends on how many of the small items you need to purchase at a time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would say mom-pop store know more about the parts, installation (most times) and other ways to fix. Now the people at Walmart and K-mart, I do not think so.

But then again I put Wal-mart, K-mart, Auto Zone, Carquest and NAPA all in the same link of quality. If I want parts, always OEM , they are ordered online to save me the time and buying “other” parts. For me, the shipping is a savings; no burning of gas in my car, no wear/tear, MY TIME, etc. Plus they are never closed!

Home Depot or Lowes is good but there quality of lumber (rough or finish) is poor. I hit the local boys for this. Higher price (about 10%) but 4X the quality. For throwaway items all these stores are fine. By throwaway I mean; light bulbs, Scotts Fertilizer, bolts, nuts, propane tanks, etc. But then again I get all my lawn and garden stuff from my wife at dealer price! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But then again our Kmart is gone…thank god and so are most of our local store since walmart forced them out. Unless I want to drive a town over (notice I said town, not city), online is where I go for most quality things; unless they are around her (most times not).
