It could use a nut on the adjustment shaft to prevent it from being turned down too far and damaging the fitting.

I did this on one of my fittings by not paying close enough attention to what I was doing.

Yes, it was my fault, however in doing so I also discovered that the fitting was nowhere near as well constructed as the one I replaced it with.

I had some anxious moments wondering why my grapple would open extremely slowly and then drift close. One fitting I damaged and the other went bad - the hydraulic fitting vendor went on my list of what not to buy.

I ordered a set of these today..
After nearly pulling a muscle and then getting hot hydro shot in my face… this is easier than a burn..

Question.. has anyone put a vinyl hose
On the output fitting to keep from spilling or shooting it everywhere?

I have not done it myself, but I've seen it done, absolutely.

I don’t see any for the flat faced skid steer type used on attachments like the grapple on my loader (and of course my CTL). Those are the worst.

Here is a simple one I made. A nut welded to a piece of bent up light steel. You could do it w/o welding but you need a wrench to hold the nut. I am using it to hold the connector open to drain the yucky oil from an old plow I bought.
