In the last 3 weeks or so, the price of 87 Oct gas has dropped from around $1.75/gal to $1.35/gal here in my area. But, diesel is still up at $1.75/gal. What I heard is that there was a problem with supplies coming from Venesuella (sp?) that drove the prices up and now the strike or whatever is over, so gas prices are coming down. Why are gas prices dropping but diesel prices not dropping?

Here in SE Oklahoma unleaded reg gas is 1.34, #1 diesel is 1.38 and #2 diesel is 1.15

You guys are ahead of us. I just noticed yesterday that regular unleaded has come down to $1.489.

Regular is $1.41-$1.44 here in mid-Missery. I paid $1.34 the other day for some off-road diesel and the road taxed stuff was $1.44. One local supplier, MFA, is selling their 10% ethanol blend for the same as regular, to "reduce the demand for imported oil", so I tried it in my '91 F150 with the straight six. Runs a bit smoother, with less valve clatter. Maybe my truck is patriotic. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It starting to sound like I should have worded my question "Why are gas prices dropping but diesel prices not dropping, here in southern Indiana?". I guess I'll consider myself lucky that the gas prices have dropped as much as they have.

Here in Minnesota Diesel is staying up there while gas is dropping.

In Central Virginia, at least at the station where I buy my gas and diesel, both have dropped from about $1.789 two weeks ago to about $1.619 two days ago.

Mosey,

Looks like you had better cross state lines /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

It is $1.45 for 87 octane, and $1.32 for Diesel.
