I've noticed that diesel prices fluctuate but never noticed a pattern, i.e. the price going up at the end of the week.
In my area sometimes diesel is higher than gasoline and sometimes it is cheaper. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it as far as I can see. This week diesel is going for $1.35 here on the east side of Houston. Not sure what gas is going for.

I just got back from a trip to lower Michigan and like KC says, diesel was in the $1.40's. Gas there was around $1.50. Here in Columbus, Indiana, gas is still $1.36, but diesel is still up at $1.75. Fortunately the tractor still has about a half a tank and my 7 gal can is still full, so I won't need any for a couple weeks. Maybe the price will be lower by then.
