I'm about to purchase my first tractor and want to get the proper attachements now. My wife wouldn't be happy if I spent all this money and couldn't do everything without going back and buying new stuff.... Here is what I think I need to do (until I find new things to do /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
1. Mow 2 acres of grass around the house
2. Mow the 4 acre field (lot rasberry canes, etc)
3. Level the very uneven field (it's an old overgrown field with about 1 foot high mounds (in rows) every 2 feet that my wife would like to use as a garden and soccer field and more grass area)
4. Cutting down, moving, and removing stumps from trees
5. Removing a lot of rock from the fields
6. Making gardens
7. Making retaining walls
8. General grading including cutting new ditches for water run off

One more question....why does the wife say that I'm more excited about a tractor than a baby?? Oppps....

I'm sorta decided on a Kubota B7800HSD if that makes a difference.

The lot is a little over 10 acres, rather hilly, part forest, part old farmers field with mostly clay and rocks with a little top soil on it.

Thanks for your help!
Rick

Walk in to the local dealer and say, " I want one of everything you sell"! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

1. a finish mower
2. bush hog
3. tiller
4. front loader
5. box blade
6. back hoe
7. fertilzer spreader/seeder
8. D9 Cat (optional)
9. BIG barn to house all your new toys...er...TOOLS
10. Marriage councelor if you let wife here about the tractor/baby opinion. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif (BTDT)

Wow...you guys are fast.....

What's a D9 Cat?

What's a rear grading blade as compared to a box blade?

So far my list is:
1. Finish mower
2. Bush hog
3. Box blade
4. Rake
5. Tiller
6. FEL

From what I've read it's best to have the FEL match the tractor but the rest is up in the air. Any makers that you think are better than others, including reasonable prices?
Thanks again..

This is your cat. May be a tad out your price range though.

Weird. Searched the entire site and couldn't find a dozer anywhere.

Bring up the cat website. Then scroll down to the icon for "track type tractors". Click there. You will then go to a complete listing of all Cat's cool GIANT toys...
