Today the Melbourne Cup was run and won. The biggest horse race in this country literally stops the nation, $120 million was wagered on the one race, this represents about $6 for every man woman and child.
700 million people watch the race live or on delayed telecast.

It was a fowl day in Melbourne for the Cup it rained and blow terribly. Did your son back a winner for the day, the experience seeing bookmakers would have been new to him I suppose, I understand you don't have them in the US is that correct.
