Interesting how we honor people we know nothing about as if they were saints or greats. I know a guy really well that served in the secret service on the Carter detail(as well as others). He says that the Carters were just awful people to all the staff, especially her. He said she was by far the worse he ever worked for. He said they used to take supplies that came through for the Habitat homes especially things like toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies. What a bunch of nuts we vote into political office in this country.

I feel bad for Jimmy in this. He looked so bad that I'm not sure he really knew what was going on. Almost as if they dressed him up and rolled him out there for the photo op. I'm not sure. I guess if I were him I probably wouldn't want to know.

The dude is months shy of his 100th birthday, and spent 4 years of that doing hard time in perhaps the most stressful job on the planet. I hope I look half as alive at 100, as he did at that funeral.

No kidding. In 2015 he had liver cancer. In 2019 he broke his hip while getting ready to go turkey hunting. Later in 2019 he fell and hit his head and had to have the pressure on his brain relieved.

Hip injuries do in a lot of elderly folks.
