Grading The right blade for the best cut!

I find that the high lift blade has the best cut for my cub,it is a 2180,42''deck,when it was new the tractor came with the 3 in 1 blade.I noticed that if you had nice thick grass the blade worked good,but if you had thin grass and weeds it would leave un cut grass,which drove me crazy,then I bought a gator blade ,same cut as the 3 in 1 blade,in tall thin grass with weeds would leave uncut grass.so bought a pair of reg high lift blades great cut all in all.But I really think that the blade tip speed on my 2180 cub could be a little faster.IN all case with other blades my deck was clean with new belts . I would like to improve the quality of cut with this cub,is there away to increase the blade tip speed,I would like to get that carpet cut !

You would need to put a larger pulley on your motor. Or change your deck pul;ey to a smaller diameter. Both will require a slightly different length belt. I would lean more to downsizing the deck drive pulley so as to not bog down the motor. High lift blades always seem to cut better than standard blades. They lift the grass up nicely. They work better for picking up leaves in the Fall also.
