I use a trailer.
That way I carry two saws, fuel, chain oil, file, wrench, etc. Then I load the cut logs and brush/limbs when finished.
On front of trailer I made a wooden box for the tools, gloves, chains, rope, bug spray, etc.

Have one at Rops, at rear of tractor, interferes with nothing, saw and body completely protected by Rops and hidden by Rops and chassis/body.

Also one on my ATV. Had both for years and they work with ALL 7 of my Stihl saws.

IMHO, best ever saw holder for the price- absolutely no regrets.

I had looked at those in the past but didn't like that you have to actually clamp the saw into it. It's just one more step and when I'm on and off the tractor to make a quick cut here and there that extra step adds up. With the SawHaul you just drop the saw into the scabbard and gravity does the rest. Just a very simple and easy design. Whatever works for you though!

I added a SawHaul to my JD 350C dozer just a couple weeks ago. I use the dozer for skidding trees firewood and also for dragging ou difficult to fell trees, like ones I know will get hung up in others. It's great to not only have the saw on the dozer without having to hold it but also to have a place to put it after I've made cuts so I know it's in a safe place where I won't run it over or damage it while pulling down a tree.

Now how do you carry fuel/bar oil, or do you just count on not running out while up in the woods ?


I recently bought a can like this, fuel one end, oil in the other, tool compartment in the center for wrench, extra chain, files, etc. I ordered the big U bolt and flat plate from SawHaul along with the regular saw mount. Plan to build a box for the plate and mount the fuel can on the right side of the tractor FEL post with the saw on the left side.

When I’m using my dozer to skid trees I’m usually just cutting them down and doing some limited cutting so I can do quite a bit on one tank of gas. Other times if I’m doing more cutting I can bring a 1 qt bottle of bar and chain oil and my 1 gallon gas can in my chain box on the back of the dozer.

Now that Husqvarna dual purpose fuel/oil can is interesting. Otherwise, I just put my chainsaw, loosely, in the jaws of the grapple.

I bought the Husqvarna fuel/oil can from Amazon a couple a months ago. It is very well designed and made. The transparent bar shows fluid levels and makes easy work at getting the two cycle mix correct. The price was very reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

What I found interesting is apparently they are not sold in the US.....the one from Amazon comes from UK. I 'assume' it is some kind of stupid govt regulation, or you'd be able to pick one up at any Husky dealer.

I just ordered a SawHaul and I've been looking for a well thought out carrier for a few years. It's always been a surprise to me that there weren't more options for sae carriers on the market.

I thought their pricing was a little out of line. $25 for material & labor. $100 for the idea?

I have to agree. It's something that would be handy for what I've been doing lately clearing a small patch of land. Just not 125 clams handy.
