Glad to hear she's OK. My wife will use the tractor, but not without me home.

She did call me a year or so ago pronouncing a dead Deere in the ditch. I immediately thought there was some problem with the tractor but it turned out to be a dead deer instead. Used the live Deere to move the dead deer to keep a happy dear /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"When you say "she rolled", are you saying that she did not have her seatbelt on?"

If this is true.. tell her she isn't allowed to operate the tractor unless she is following the safety rules.. she could have easily been killed or pinned under the tractor until you came home.

What type of balast does the tractor have for FEL work?

She wont go anywhere in the car without seatbelt, but never uses seatbelt on the Kubota, go figure !!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear she is ok and the ego was the only damage.
Those seat belts are so important, as is watching what you try to pickup and run around with.

A lesser man might find something wrong with the tractor that requires an immdeiate upgrade to a much better tractor.
But then agian having a tractor and a mini-ex would be very handy.

I thought when I got the ZTR that she'd have fun running it around the yard, or even drving it down to the mailbox, but she won't touch it either............

Mine too. I told her she really should know the basics of it just in case something were to ever happen and SHE needed to do something. She still has her reservations about using it even after I've told her of what has happened to others. Oh well, maybe someday she will. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Wow..you're right about the SECOND worse call! Really glad the wife's OK. I'm sure she'll be "loader shy" now and maybe wear the seatbelt, but she's got experience that you don't!!! Not that you want that experience!

Not to take away from vetteman's post (glad she didn't get hurt), but is that a bad problem? My wife will drive my tractor around on flat land, but I will not allow her or my son to use it other wise. Just more seat time for me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif!

I have a grey market Yanmar with no ROPS and no FEL. I have been using tractors since I was probably 7 yrs old or so and know the limitations, but I will not allow my wife or son to use it until I can afford the ROPS to go on it.

We have a rule around our place: no operating the machinery unless someone else is on the property. Sure, an accident can happen any time, and just because you are close by things occur so quickly that you can't prevent them. But that second person nearby may make the difference between life and death.
