- Deere 4044R cab, Kubota KX-121-3S
Drove down to my Deere dealer and crawled all over the 4300 with the 430 FEL. Opened the hood, dropped the side panels and put my hands on all the essentials (oil and fuel filter, dipstick, fill points, coolant tank, etc) to see how easily everything could be accessed. Very impressive.
Ditto for the operator's ergonomics. Well laid out and everything was easy to reach. Didn't think I'd like the loader stick practically in my lap, but it was surprisingly easy to get used to. The dual HSD pedals were the same way. They made sense after a few minutes of driving around. I absolutely loved the visibility from the seat! The 4300 is much more compact than the Kubota, and I had the feeling I would not spend so much time explaining to the wife why her roses, lilacs, irises, etc had been flattened if I drove green.
That said, the 4300 vibrated a LOT! The steering wheel was practically a blur! It felt like I had a Sawzall in my hands! I drove down the block to the Kubota dealer to drive the 3710 and found it was MUCH smoother, though I felt like it was a big honker compared to the Deere. Was this tractor representative of all 4300s? (And yes, I realize the green was 3 cylinders and the orange was 4.)
