man, ain't that the truth! 'course yesterday it did - had a new roof put on the house - 45 square - rip off, trim repair, lay down -- 8.5 hours --- that crew was a well oiled machine.

Wow! I'd never build anything that nice because my wife would decide it was "cute" and it would be hers forever!

It will house my LT and my JD4110 (FEL/BH). It will also hold the DR trimmer, the garden dump trailer and a couple carts. I plan to take a welding class this fall and it will be my workshop. This will use up all the available floor space (and then some).

I will be putting storage above 7' along the walls and a section of workebnch along one side. Hopefully after that, we will be able to get at least one car in our two car garage. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, well, she did comment that with all those windows it would make it a great place to set up her sewing machine. She was smiling when she said it, but she likes the design too. It's not a macho machinery shed.

I am especially glad I put in a lot of window space. There is no substitute for natural light, and I think it adds to the attractiveness of the structure (ok, cuteness).

Pete,

That reminds me. Don't you owe us some update pictures on your "new" shop? Maybe I missed them, but I don't recall seeing any finish pics! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And Cliff -

That's a GREAT shed! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Of course, if you're like most of us (and it sounds like you already are! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif), you'll run out of room in about a week! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Maybe you need to start planning for that addition!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The little house in the background - Is that a playhouse for the kids? If it is, where'd you get the plans? I'd love to plan on building something like that for my grandaughter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is a garden shed. 8X8 with 8 foot walls and car siding. 12X12 pitch. Double hung wondows on the sides and a little octogon in the gable. I didn't use plans, I just winged it. It's standard stick built stuff, the same way you'd build a house or a garage. I built it on a 2X8 framed deck sitting on concrete blocks.

Couldn't do anything on the outside till the ground thawed and dried...and then Tamara got me busy building sheep shelters! On the outside, heck -- I just got started painting the trim. Hope to paint the shiplap if the rain ever stops! Then there's the problem of all the junk the Wife has piled inside! What is it about women and well-organized spaces anyway!?!

That's a question I'll never figure out!

Jenny has a large walk-in closet off of her office that she uses for fabric sample storage. It was too crowded and needed some more shelves. Soooooo, two weeks ago I tore it all apart, removed some really old carpet and put down new tile, removed the drywall halfway up the wall (due to severe damage as the result of careless handling of fabric books! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) and put on new drywall. Of course, then there was the mudding, priming and painting of all of the walls. And let's not forget doubling the amount of shelving space! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Went down there a couple of days ago, and I couldn't tell the difference between the way it was before and what it is now. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Oh, oh, wait - You can tell the difference. You can tell there's twice as much stuff as there was before. You just can't SEE any of the shelves that are holding all of it! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
